Presentation & round table "World Heritage Cities of Spain"
Wednesday December 14th, 6 pm
Spain is the second country in the world in the ranking of world heritage sites, with 42; among them, there are 13 cities that have been declared World Heritage Cities by UNESCO. In 1993 the organization Grupo Ciudades Patrimonio de la Humanidad de España was created with the goal to work together to protect and preserve the rich historic and cultural heritages of these cities and to promote their tourist attractions internationally. Thus, a delegation from the organization has travelled to New York to present these cities. After the presentation, the Director of the Instituto Cervantes New York, Javier Rioyo, and the journalist and author Gerry Dawes will relate their experiences and impressions of these historical cities, which will be followed by a Q&A with the attendees.
