Dear Quizzers
Please note that the next U3A Quiz will take place on 30th January at 7.30pm at Dominique's on the paseo in Los Boliches (usual venue).
Places are limited and numbers are starting to come in, so if you want to reserve a table (of 4) or you want to put your name down to join a table please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks. [email protected]
Photo Group
The Photo Group next meet at Lux Mundi on Tuesday January 31st from 10.00 am until 11.30 am. Please note the new schedule and time. If you are not a member of the group and wish to attend please contact Ray Challinor on 636 957 547
Needlework
The new Needlework Group is now up and running and will be held in B7-R1 Lux Mundi on Wednesdays from 11.00 am - 12.30 pm.
Next week, we will be starting with sewing patchwork hexagons, so you will need to bring some fabric, needle, thread and scissors.
This will also be a skill sharing group, as some ladies wish to learn how to alter garments, crochet, cross stitch and knit. So, if you can help in this respect, please come along and support us.
Please contact Group Leader, Pat Jackson: 693 495 161 or [email protected].
Many thanks Pat (she's a pretty useful pétanque player also!)
Science & Technology
Jan 25th:A Century of General Relativity - Part 1: The Expansion of the Universe
What does Einstein's General Theory of Relativity tell us about the Expansion of the Universe? How can we measure the distance and velocity of distant galaxies? And why does it get dark at night? Contact Ian Phillips for more information if you are interested in coming along: [email protected]
Walking in Andalusia
There will be a walk lead by Bob Hudson on Saturday 28th Jan from the Refugio de Juanar.
Meeting Point: 10:00 BP petrol Station Alhaurin el Grande (opposite the Castle / Water Tower / Los Morenos Restaurant) where we often meet.
Regular walkers will already have received further details from Tony Ruiz. For more information, you may contact Tony at [email protected]
If you are not a walker, I hope the attached will whet your appetite. It's not just about the good healthy exercise, it's about the friendship and camaraderie too!
