The organisation was set up in 2011 by founder Richie Littler, who holds a World Record for hosting the world's highest attitude concert on land in Nepal. He believes in the capacity of every person to be creative and grow through their involvement with music.
Young people learn how to compile, record and perform a DJ set to include their own works: be that sounds, loops or completed tracks and during the programme they will explore musical forms and instruments old and new
embracing vintage as well as the most cutting edge technologies.
Groove School is heavily involved in local community projects, and their youngsters often perform around South London and South East England festivals, including the Southbank Centre and the Lambeth Country Show
Pop Brixton in London, is their first permanent base, where they will be operating as a full time education facility. They host some free workshops for young people, adult evening classes, as well as specialist talks and networking sessions with label owners, studio managers, producers, engineers and artists.
Goove School also run the AQA Unit Award Scheme and Arts Awards, so participants can work towards a professional qualification.
