Lunes 12 de diciembre/Monday 12th December

Presentación/Presentation: Revista Architechture+design (Architechture+design magazine, an Indian Journal of architecture)

En colaboración con la Embajada de España en India/ In collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in India

Whenever contemporary European architecture and design is discussed and debated, Spanish evolvements in these fields have always been appreciated for their sensitivity to detail and an urge to creatively explore and expand the design strata. The Spanish love for tradition is known to all. And yet we witness in their bigger cities a gusto towards the modern movement. Madrid and Barcelona exemplify this trend. A number of international architects have designed mega projects for these cities and lend a global architectural feel to the urban fabric. Barring a few exceptions, the national ones have maintained a balance between the traditional approach and the global style. This Issue is a Special one which explores Spanish dynamics in architecture. We acknowledge the inputs from Madrid-based architects Ángel Fernández and Soledad del Pino, the guest editors for this Issue. They and their team have been a very resourceful source in the formatting and collating of the editorial material. The Embassy of Spain in New Delhi has played a pivotal role in the overall co-ordination. The editorial contents bring to the forefront Spanish architectural practices which have evolved their architecture with modern classicism as an important backdrop.
