Dublin Flamenco Festival 2013

Since the very start the Spanish National Radio (RNE - Radio Exterior) has been our main sponsor and supporter and each year they send a journalist to cover the event.
Manuel Moraga wrote: "Dublin Flamenco Festival is an exquisite balance between the pure, gypsy tradition and the new trends in dance and music. [...] Thanks to Peña Flamenca El Indalo, the Republic of Ireland takes a well deserved spot in the international agenda of flamenco festivals."

The festival features some of today's most influential artists and a programme exploring dance, song and music. From modern and edgy to traditional, critics and audiences can discover a diversity of styles and interpretations of the art of flamenco, recently recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The theme of the first edition of the festival was the building of bridges; a bridge between the old and the new, the traditional and the modern, the flamenco of the past and the flamenco of today. Flamenco is an ever-changing art form, one in which the legacy of the past is as important as the pioneering work of the present. The programme from the first edition included artists who are redefining flamenco for a new generation, and those who are preserving the traditions of old.
In presenting this evolution, the festival aimed to celebrate the wealth, complexity and diversity of the flamenco art form, and dispel the clichés that surround it. Dublin Flamenco Festival 2012 continued this process and was officially launched by Dermot McLaughlin, chairman of Temple Bar Cultural Trust.
We are now working on our third edition to take place in October 2013, and we are seeking sponsors and partners to be part of the festival and help us make it a resounding success.
