Benarés es una de las ciudades más antiguas y sagradas del mundo; una ciudad donde pervive aún cierto eco de lo ancestral. Lugar de residencia de Shiva -Dios creador y destructor de todo lo posible-, donde sentidos y liberación se dan la mano. En ella se esconde esa otra ciudad que entrevemos a través de la bruma, el humo, la arena: Kashi, la ciudad de la luz. Durante un año completo –en un ciclo que se repite sin descanso– se suceden los hechos y los ritmos que provocan cambios drásticos en la fisionomía de este microcosmos de la India. Voces, miradas, músicas, las manos de los hombres y los ritos a los Dioses; la indiferencia está prohibida en esta ciudad. Cada cual tiene su espacio y su tiempo. Cada uno hace su búsqueda.
Varanasi is one of the oldest and most sacred cities in the world; a city where still survives certain echo of the ancestral. Residence of Shiva, - creator and destroyer of all things – place where senses and liberation shake hands. In it hides the other city that we glimpse through the mist, smoke, and sand: Kashi, the city of the light. For a full year -in a cycle that repeats itself without rest- there is a succession of events and rhythms that cause drastic changes in the physiognomy of this microcosm of India. Voices, looks, music, the hands of men and rites to the Gods, indifference is prohibited in this city. Each has its own space and time. Everyone does its search.
