Exposición Lightstalker, del fotógrafo David Maroto Diaz.

La muestra se compone de 12 fotografías a gran tamaño tomadas en distintas sesiones donde bailarinas de danza contemporánea desarrollan diferentes performances frente al objetivo. Las dos proyecciones de video que se muestran en la exposición nacen también de esas mismas fotografías, donde las imágenes toman vida a través del fundido de diferentes fotografías. El objetivo es narrar de forma subjetiva estados y sensaciones abiertas, estableciendo una conversación entre la obra y el espectador.

Sobre David Maroto Diaz

David Maroto Diaz es un fotógrafo formado entre Nueva York y Madrid y cuyo trabajo se centra en la fotografía secuencial. Apoyándose en el uso de música atmosférica y estímulos multimedia Maroto Diaz construye instalaciones fotograficas como las que se presentan en esta exposición.

Especializado en retratos y en fotografía de escena, en 2007 decidió encaminar su obra hacia la investigación de la fotografía secuencial.

Maroto Diaz ha estudiado en en el ICP de Nueva York, en el CES en Madrid y ha tomado cursos de fotografía junto a Alberto García Alix, Matías Costa, Amy Arbus, Arlene Collins y Miriella Sentis entre otros.

Actualmente trabaja como freelance para el Teatro Español, los teatros del Canal en Madrid y para diferentes productoras de cine como El Deseo, Globomedia y Zeppelín.

Su obra se ha mostrado en el Macba de Barcelona, en el festival SONAR, en el LAboratorio de Tabacalera y en el Spain Art Fest 10 Times Square.

The Amster Yard Project Open Space is a new creative initiative launched by the Instituto Cervantes New York to promote, develop and implement creative multidisciplinary interventions and programs at the spaces of the Instituto Cervantes in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Amster Yard Open Space aims to activate the unique space in and around its landmark Amster Yard building through the display of innovative proposals by new emerging talents in the arts through the first half of 2011.
