OF INK AND LIGHT
An exhibition of photos by DANIEL MORDINSKI looking into the soul of Spanish and Latin American Literature
Daniel Mordzinski, the writers' photographer, has been working for more than 30 years on an ambitious 'human atlas' of Spanish and Latin American literature. With his particular gift for capturing the real essence of literary creativity, Mordzinski has become the most accomplished photographer to represent three generations of writers and has taken portraits of the main protagonists of Spanish letters.
The photographs, which will be displayed in the new exhibition rooms at the Instituto Cervantes London, will be enhanced by a section dedicated to the participation of Spanish-language writers at the Hay Festivals in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) and Segovia (Spain).
Opening 7/06 - 18.30h and runs from Monday - Friday 10.00 - 18.00h. Instituto Cervantes Londres, 102 Eaton Square, Belgravia, London SW1W 9AN

Prometheus Awakes
by La Fura dels Baus
Globally acclaimed for its extraordinary staging and daring, La Fura dels Baus comes to London with a stunning, new outdoor spectacular. They join forces with Graeae, a trailblazing theatre company led by disabled artists, to create a great, uniquely accessible piece of theatre.
In this epic re-interpretation of the famous Greek myth, perceptions of disability will be challenged and transformed with large-scale puppetry, ingenious stagecraft, video projection and aerial performance.
Framed by a World Heritage Site, this performance has been specially created in the year of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Co-commissioned by Greenwich+Docklands International Festival and Stockton International Riverside Festival as part of London 2012 Festival

The Blue Hour
Talk by Purevian Novelist Alonso Cueto
Dr Adrián Ormache is a wealthy lawyer from the most well-to-do neighbourhood in Lima. He seems quite happy with his family and his work until one day he uncovers a shady episode in his father's life. A letter reveals that his father had been a torturer in the Shining Path conflict several years earlier. He also finds out about a woman who was his prisoner and possibly his lover. From that moment, Ormache abandons everything to find that woman. That search leads him into experiences in areas of Peru, and of reality, which were quite unknown to him. The novel is a story of redemption that springs from an encounter with evil.
