 'El color del budismo'  en Leh, Ladakh.

Sinopsis: “La presencia de un monje budista resulta inesperada en esa isla de lujo excesivo que es Hong Kong. El joven religioso, ataviado con la tradicional túnica naranja y con la cabeza rapada, acaba de descender junto con otros impresionables turistas del barco que une la bahía de Kowloon con Hong Kong.

Todas las miradas se elevan ante la fila de rascacielos. El monje saca su cámara y retrata el skyline de Hong Kong, símbolo de la avaricia financiera. Este hombre dedicado a la meditación, la renuncia material y la vida monacal es hoy un turista más….” Jaime León (fotógrafo y periodista)

Biografía:Jaime León es el corresponsal en la India del periódico español ABC. En los últimos cuatro años ha cubierto el ciclón Nargis en Birmania, los ataques de Bombay en 2008 y el final de la guerra civil en Sri Lanka, entre otros asuntos. Antes vivió dos años en Pekín, donde disfrutaba paseando por los hutones. Combina el periodismo con la fotografía.

Heritage of Ladakh 2012 is hosting the exhibition "The color of Buddhism" from 3 to 9 of September 2012 at Leh, Ladakh.
Synopsis:

“The presence of a Buddhist monk is unexpected on the island of excessive luxury that is Hong Kong. The young religious man, wearing the traditional orange robes and shaved head, has just came down with other impressionable tourists from the boat that links Kowloon Bay with Hong Kong. All eyes are raised to the skyscrapers. The monk pulls out his camera and captures the skyline of Hong Kong, symbol of financial greed. This man, devoted to meditation, material renunciation and monastic life is today a tourist…” Jaime León (photographer and journalist)

Biography: Jaime León is the correspondent in India for the Spanish journal ABC. During the last four years he has covered the Nargis cyclone in Myanmar, the Mumbay attacks in 2008 and the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka, among others. Before that, he had lived for two years in Beijing, where he enjoyed walking around the hutongs. He is a journalist and a photographer.
